15 women were recently trained by a professional seamstress to create artisanal products like purses, hand fans (necessary in the sub-Saharan heat!), and laptop cases. Sewing is the third trade we are onboarding to our skills-based opportunities. The program currently owns 5 sewing machines, but is hoping for 10 to be shared in a teaching center where women can work and learn together.
